Samsung announces e-book reader with handwriting recognition

The eBook Reader "models E60 and E100 come in April in the trade. They support the ePub format, PDF and TXT. Per Stylus can add text notes and drawings. Also an MP3 player is on board.

Samsung has unveiled two e-book reader with handwriting recognition and wireless. The models' eBook Reader E60 "and" eBook Reader E100 "coming in April on the market.

The readers have a monochrome display. The E60 has a resolution of 600 x 800 pixels, of the E100 provides 824 x 1200 pixels.

Using an electromagnetic stylus can add users handwritten note and drawings to an electronic text. The handwriting is recognized and converted into electronic text. It also allows passages highlight, annotate, and then transferred to a computer for further processing. The E100 even has a pressure-sensitive pen and calligraphy and review functions such as Cut and Copy and paste.

The controls on the device itself only come to light, as if it is a slider phone defers. When closed, users can only access two buttons for paging back and forth.

Both e-book reader ePub support the formats, PDF and TXT. The integrated WLAN interface (802.11b / g) can new Leseinhalte from the Internet or share your own notes with other devices.
